Failing Forward

We've all experienced at this at some point: failure. Yup, you read me right. Failure is like that uninvited guest that shows up when you least expect it. But here's the thing – failing is not the end of the road; it's just a pit stop on the journey to success.

Let's talk about leaning into failure. I mean, how do we even do that? It sounds counterintuitive, right? Well, buckle up, because I've got a story to share with you.

I recently threw my hat into the ring for a chance to speak on stage at the Maxwell IMC event. Now, let me tell you, it was no walk in the park. I spent months – yes, literal months – crafting and refining my speech. I poured my heart and soul into it, sending in video after video, eagerly awaiting feedback.

But here's the plot twist: the feedback wasn't always what I expected. In fact, there were times when I was asked to completely change my story. My initial reaction? A mix of shock and disbelief. After all, this was my signature story, my life's mantra – why would I change it?

But then came a pivotal moment. A simple question that changed everything: "Do you trust me?" It was a wake-up call. I realized that being teachable meant being open to feedback, even when it stung a little. So, I took a deep breath, swallowed my pride, and embraced the process of growth.

And you know what? It wasn't easy. There were moments of doubt, moments when I felt defeated. But through it all, I learned a valuable lesson: failure isn't a roadblock; it's a stepping stone. It's an opportunity to learn, grow, and come back stronger than before.

So, what's the difference between failing backward and failing forward? Well, according to John Maxwell, it all comes down to attitude. Failing backward is about blaming others, giving up, and letting failure define you. But failing forward? It's about taking responsibility, pushing through the setbacks, and seeing failure as a springboard for success.

And hey, I get it. It's easy to fall into the trap of negativity, to believe that you're destined to fail. But here's the truth: you're a winner. Yes, you! Every day that you get out of bed and tackle the challenges life throws your way, you're winning.

But here's the kicker: you have the power to choose your attitude. You can choose to embrace failure as an opportunity for growth, to be teachable, open, and coachable. And trust me, when you do, amazing things happen.

That's why I'm here – as a coach, mentor, and cheerleader – to help you unlock your full potential. Whether it's through one-on-one coaching or group programs, I'm here to support you on your journey to greatness.

So, here's your challenge: ask yourself, "What could happen if I allowed myself to be truly teachable?" Let that sink in for a moment. Because the truth is, the possibilities are endless.

If you're ready to take the next step, I'd love to chat with you. Head to the show notes, click the link, and let's set up a 15-minute meeting. Who knows? It could be the beginning of something incredible.

Alright, that's a wrap for today. Remember, be teachable, be open, and keep failing forward. Until next time, peace out, and keep winning, my friend. Cheers!
